This illuatraion is adapted from the Chinese myth:Jingwei Filling the Sea. It mainly tells thestory of the Emperor Yan' s daughter,Jingwei, who drowned in a flood while trying to protect the villagers, and latertransformed into a bird, determined to fill the sea with stones.
